Rockwood Hall, Mount Pleasant, New York

Elizabeth & Martin

When it’s Spring, it’s like the whole world is reborn; it feels like we are all collectively waking up from a long slumber. Isn’t that also kinda how falling in love feels? Like springtime? When I shot this session, I couldn’t help but think how perfect it was that these two lovers wore such springy colors for their session. It’s like their energy and love matched the blooming world around them. I had never shot at this location before, but it is now one of my favorites, located right on the Hudson River, Rockwood Hall was actually one of Rockerfeller’s Gilded-Age mansions, but was destroyed after the house was foreclosed in 1941, is now a beautiful public park for all to enjoy. When thinking of your location for your photo session, think of the background colors, the season you’ll be shooting in, and the foot traffic. All of these factor in how your session will end up looking. If you’re not sure what your vision is, scroll through my galleries to see what sessions you like most and start up a conversation with me about how we can best achieve that look for you!
